Carrying Loved Ones Across the Channel
Who are you paddling for?
For many Paddle for Life paddlers, the voyage across the ʻAuʻau Channel is made in honor or memory of someone they love.
Over the years, paddlers have carried photos of loved ones on their canoes, bringing their faces and stories along for the journey from Maui to Lānaʻi and home again.
This year, Maui Sticker Company is generously helping us continue this special tradition by providing complimentary photo stickers for our paddlers.
How to Request Your Photo Sticker
1. Choose your photo(s)
Select a clear, high-resolution photo of each loved one you would like to carry with you. Original or full-size image files are best whenever possible.
2. Email your photo(s) by September 25
Send your photo to info@mauistickers.com with “Paddle for Life” in the subject line.
Stickers will be printed at approximately 5" × 7" for placement on the canoe hull.
3. Pick up your sticker at the Safety Talk & Kickoff
Pacific Cancer Foundation will collect the completed stickers from Maui Sticker Company and have them ready for paddlers at our Safety Talk & Kickoff at Nalu’s on September 29.
A Note for Your Canoe
These stickers are printed on gloss vinyl designed to hold up to outdoor and ocean conditions. Because canoe finishes vary, please use your best judgment when applying them, especially on painted, older, or weathered surfaces. Apply only to a clean, dry area with a sound finish and avoid existing decals or chipped or peeling paint. We recommend removing stickers promptly after Paddle for Life by gently warming the vinyl with a hair dryer and peeling it off slowly and carefully. If you have any concerns about your canoe’s finish, please check with your team captain or canoe owner before applying.
A Gift from Maui Sticker Company
A heartfelt mahalo to Maui Sticker Company for sponsoring these memorial stickers for our paddlers and helping us carry the names, faces, and memories of those we love across the channel.
